The 3rd ECO Cars Show, an event of the Auto Business Review magazine, will be hosted in the campus of the School in cooperation with Perrotis College.

Ambassador Nicholas Burns Addresses American Farm School Audience
Former Ambassador to Greece R. Nicholas Burns addressed an audience of friends and supporters invited by the New York Committee of the American Farm School at the Yale Club on Monday April 19th.

Calling All Alumni to Celebrate Forty Years of Greek Summer
The American Farm School will mark the 40th Anniversary of Greek Summer with a festive reunion of alumni and counsellors and their families in New York City the weekend of November 6-7, 2010. The Saturday evening reunion celebration, as well as the Sunday buffet brunch featuring a guest speaker, will be held at the Radisson Martinique Hotel at Broadway and 33rd Street. A bloc of guestrooms at substantially reduced prices will be offered by the hotel to all those attending the reunion events.

Perrotis College Agronomy & Environment Club being active
Members of the Perrotis Cillege Agronomy & Environment Club involve the children, teachers and parents of the kindergarten and grammar school in the Oreokastro section of Thessaloniki in a project that brings color, nature - and fresh vegetables! - to the community.

The U.S. Office Participated in celebrating National Philanthropy Day by honoring long time Board Member, and former Chairman of the Board, Philip G. Foote.

Rhode Island Venue for "Stewards of the Land" Exhibit
"Stewards of the Land: The American Farm School and the Development of Modern Greece," an exhibition first mounted for the National Museum and Cultural Center in Chicago, was on view this summer at The Barn, field office of the South Kingstown Land Trust, in Matunuck, Rhode Island.

AFS Alumnus Demetrios Vlachos, a Trailblazer in Xeriscaping
The decision to introduce the Xeriscape Technology specialization in Perrotis College was inspired by Demetrios Vlachos, an American Farm School alumnus of the class of 1954, who has made a stellar career in the United States in the field of Xeriscaping.

Greek Summer 2009 = Paleohori2
Another year and another group of nervous, wide-eyed American students were thrust into the arms of their loving and awaiting village families. Basing the program in Paleohori for the second time, due to popular demand of its villagers, those young Americans amazed everyone with their energy, cooperation and commitment.

Trustee Frank Bledjian Sponsors Perrotis College Internships in Armenia
Trustees of the American Farm School have traditionally provided professional insight and support that can make a dramatic difference in the lives of students. Bruce M. Lansdale 1925-2009
Bruce M. Lansdale, former President of the American Farm School in Thessaloniki, Greece, passed away quietly after a long illness on February 2, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Thessloniki, near the School he led so devotedly for 35 years.

Lincoln Center - Afro Latin Jazz Orchestra
Greece’s most prestigious cultural venues – the Athens and Thessaloniki Concert Halls – were the setting for three nights of exhilarating music performed by Lincoln Center’s renowned Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra to benefit the American Farm School’s Annual Scholarship Fund. (Nov 2007)

 Helen and Daniel Lindsay Support Laboratory for Organic Agriculture
Through the generous gift of the Helen and Daniel Lindsay Family Fund of the Minneapolis Foundation, a pilot project has begun for the production and sale by Perrotis College students of vegetables cultivated by traditional methods and without chemical inputs of any kind. (May 2007)

 Benefactor Mrs. Aliki Perroti Supports Milestone Achieved by Perrotis College
Mrs. Aliki Perroti, whose 1995 gift in honor of her late husband, Dimitris, financed the founding and operation of the Dimitris Perrotis College of Agricultural Studies, has recently made a gift of 1 million Euro in support of the new three-year B.Sc. degree program that will commence in September 2007. Through a generous grant from the Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York, video conferencing facilities have been installed in the main academic building of Perrotis College. (May 2007)

 Stavros Niarchos Foundation Residence Hall
The inauguration ceremony for the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Residence Hall took place on September 20 under brilliant sunshine, attended by students, staff, and distinguished guests that included U.S. Consul General to Thessaloniki, Mr. Hoyt Brian Yee, and the Chairman of the Greek Advisory Committee of the Foundation, Mr. George Argouridis (May 2007)

U.S. Embassy and U.S. Consulate General Donate Equipment to the American Farm School
Thanks to the assistance of the U.S. Embassy in Athens and the U.S. Consulate General in Thessaloniki, students and staff of the American Farm School recently received a large quantity of valuable equipment that will serve the educational and agricultural programs of the School. (Jan 2007)
